It makes surfing the web more simple and secure for you.

If you want to implement OpenID on your site (which ofcourse is a good idea) here is my two cents:

1) Be a consumer. Don´t even think about being a provider before you implemented the consumer part. - OpenID needs more consumers not providers.
If you want to be a provider later that´s fine but start with letting everyone with an existing OpenID sign on first.
The last thing OpenID needs is a another provider that doesn´t support sign on with existing OpenIds (Hello Yahoo and all you others..).

2) Don´t do it the wrong way and only support a few "secure" providers (Hello Microsoft..) the open in OpenID means you should support every provider.
We don´t want to end up with having multiple OpenIDs for different accounts and sites.
http://www.jargong.com

small update (while we´re doing the next big thing..)

<img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; We released a small update (0.5.1) that includes more Twitter features. Now you can keep up to date with "What You And Your Friends Are Doing" right from the main menu in Jargong. Nice and simple, the Twitter way.

Oh, if you haven´t noticed it. 0.5.0 was released a couple of days ago with Flickr, Twitter, Google Reader, Instant Messaging .. even the website is brand new. Maybe we´ll send you a newsletter and tell you more about it some day soon..
http://www.jargong.com

Note this!

We love the notes feature in Flickr. We´re sorry about that and hope we can fix it ASAP.

About the new version: We´ll hopefully add the last things today and then we need a couple of days to test everything and update the website, but we´re getting there..
http://www.jargong.com

An explanation

I think it´s time for an explanation why you haven´t heard anything from us in a couple of weeks. We haven´t gone on vacation as some of you suggested in your emails.. ;-).

The main thing with the new version (besides all new cool features you suggested of course) was to make Jargong work for the people that had problems with the first version. We spent a lot of time with rewriting the networking code and everything was working great. Then this (what we thought) small bug came up just before release..
Well, to make a long story short.. after a week we decided to make the second beta version to be a private beta only for us and our testers and continued to work on the features planned for the version after that... And that´s where we are today.
We apologize for the inconvenience. We hope (no more promises..) to have this version out for you before the end of February.

So ... Again, what can you expect from the upcoming version? Well, we already revealed some new Instant Messaging features, Nokia support and that we implemented Twitter and Flickr support (but hey, that´s still a secret only for our bloggreaders..).
So what´s left? Well, I guess you have seen the "My channels" thing in the main menu.. expect some news in there....

Thanks for your understanding and patience.
http://www.jargong.com

Twitter and Jaiku

Have you guys discovered Twitter and Jaiku yet? If not check them out, they are pretty cool services.
The idea is to share what you´re doing right now, how you´re feeling or just any thought you might have, with your friends simply by answering the question: "What you are doing?".
You can update this "status message of your life" in many ways: on the web, by sending a SMS or by using a mobile application.
Your friends can then keep track of what you´re doing by receiving a SMS everytime you update your status message or just by surfing into the service on the web. They can even connect the service to their favorite Instant Messenger network and get status message updates from there.

At first it seems like a strange idea, why would I need that? But when you start using it it´s quite addictive to follow what your friends are doing. Both services seem to get a lot of users and hype right now.

We like the idea so we´ll add support for both services in Jargong, starting with Twitter in the upcoming version.
If you connect your Twitter account to Jargong then everytime you login to Jargong the client will automatically fetch your status message from Twitter and set it as your IM status message and then each time you update your IM status message in Jargong your status message at Twitter will automatically be updated. Pretty nice and simple, right?

So what´s up with the upcoming version? Well we´re getting there, soon. It took some more time than expected to add all the features that we wanted in this version. But we think it´ll be quite good..

We can reveal for our blog readers that we implemented Flickr support. Yes, now you can view your online photos on your mobile phone anytime, anywhere. You can even make a Flickr search and comment on other peoples photos as you can see on the screenshots below. Maybe you will send some happy new year greetings from Jargong, I know I will..

It´ll be an exciting new year! In the first quarter you´ll see more what we have planned for Jargong! The road map is growing every day.

We aimed to release beta version 0.5.0 on the 5th of January but we will delay it a couple of days. We´ll get it ready in time but we need a few more days to test all the new functions, prepare the web and move things to other servers. But expect a release sometime in the second week of January. Sorry for the delay.

What to expect in 0.5.0:

* Totally rewritten network code so everyone (atleast most people) that had trouble connecting to our Instant Messaging server with the first version will love 0.5.0.
* Faster navigating to next unread message by pressing < > keys or from the menu.
* Change nickname and your avatar directly in Jargong (as many of you wished for!)
* Support for some Nokia phones (It looks quite nice on N73..)
* And that great new thing that I can´t talk about yet... err.. .. but I think many of you will like it!

Keep up the good work emailing us suggestions and feedback. (We´ll try to move the activity more and more to the forum in the future)
http://www.jargong.com

Two Weeks with Jargong

Two weeks and growing along..

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that downloaded and tested the first early beta version of Jargong. We learned a lot this past 14 days.

Now it's time for You to tell us what you like and don't like about Jargong (and of course the things that doesn't work.....).

The forum and blog is for you so please don't hesitate to contribute. We would like to build a strong community around Jargong and develop the features and services you want.

We're polishing the new beta version of Jargong right now. I can't tell you exactly when we'll be releasing it but I can reveal that you´ll probably understand more what that strange "My photos" option in the main menu are for..

If you got any requests of new features that we must include let us know right away and maybe maybe we have time to include them in the upcoming beta version.

http://www.jargong.com

Today we open up our forum

Today we launched our new support forum with the intention to be able to open up for better communication with our users.

Post any questions, feedback, bugs or anything else in our brand new empty bulletin board.
